I am very pleased to have been appointed one of parkrun's Champions for diabetes . PROVE (parkrun; Running or Volunteering for Everyone) is a three-year project funded by the Department of Health, that has been created to remove barriers to participation at parkrun for people with a range of disabilities. For our work on diabetes, we aim to identify the barriers that keep people living with diabetes from participating in parkrun and to create a safe environment for them. You can read more about the project here.
For the week of 9th January 2017 I will be the curator of the @NHS Twitter account. If you have not come across this before, it is a rotational curation project aimed at celebrating the NHS by telling the stories of staff and patients through their own words. There is more information about it here; https://www.england.nhs.uk/atnhs/
I'm very pleased to have been appointed to Diabetes UK's Council of People Living with Diabetes, which acts as a sounding board for Diabetes UK’s Trustees and senior staff.
I am delighted to have been one of five bloggers selected by Diabetes UK to attend the 2016 Diabetes UK Professional Conference. Look out for live blogs and tweets on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th March, and from @ActuallyMummy, @_CharlotteLA_ , @ellierosehuckle and @BroomOwl .
Please bear with me whist I port older material over to this site; there will be more blog posts, photos, twitter feed and (inevitably) many photos of my feline overlord.
